Windshield Gateway
The Windshield Gateway mounts directly to the inside of the vehicle's windshield. This allows for better line of sight coverage increasing the range to the Man Down Pendant or other WPAN device.
Quick and easy mounting
The adhesive backing makes mounting the gateway to the inside upper left or right corner of the vehicle's windshield quick and easy.
Antenna option
The RP (Reverse Polarity) SMA Windshield Gateway option features an SMA antenna mount designed for maximum range solutions.
How does it work?
The Windshield Gateway connects to the RS-232 port of a Chameleon modem or other smart DCE (data communications equipment). The Gateway accepts messages from Cypress WPAN devices such as the Man Down Pendant, or the Vehicle Diagnostic Transmitter. The Gateway creates and formats messages for the Chameleon modem or DCE device that are understood by the device and relayed to a central monitoring station. The Gateway communicates using Serial data communications or DTR signals (Man-Down alerts only).
