Cypress Solutions Launch Man Down Pendant
VANCOUVER, B.C. (November 17, 2008) – Cypress Solutions, a Canadian manufacturer of industrial wireless data products, is pleased to announce the Man Down Pendant and its Intrinsically Safe certification. The pendant is a wireless emergency button for increasing the safety of lone workers.
The compact pendant allows an employee to signal an emergency with a simple press of a button. Combined with a GPS enabled wireless data device, this system can instantly notify a designated call centre or cell phone with the worker’s ID and GPS location. This user worn device also has an integrated motion sensor prompting an alarm when motion stops, potentially indicating the worker is “down” and unable to press the emergency button.
IS certification ensures that the Man Down Pendant will not produce any spark or thermal effects under normal or abnormal conditions that could ignite a specified gas mixture. The IS certification conforms to CAN/CSA E60079-11-02(R2006) and CAN/CSA-C22.2 No.60079-0-2007. Testing and certification was performed by LabTest Certification Inc (Richmond, B.C.)
